Appointing category and contract period of faculties
Full-time Faculties
First time (initial contract): one year
Second time (renewing contract): one year
Third time (renewing contract): two years
Fourth time (renewing contract): two years
Fifth time: ˙If the application of promotion is approved, the following contract periods shall last for two years for each application till reaching the retirement age.
˙If the application of promotion is not approved, the contract periods shall last for one year.
Sixth time: ˙If the application of promotion is not approved, the contract shall be terminated.
˙If the application of promotion is approved, the following contract periods shall last for two years for each application till reaching the retirement age.
˙If the evaluation of applying for renewing contract after six years is approved, the following contract periods shall last for two years for each application till reaching the retirement age.
Visiting Personnel
First time (initial contract): one year
Second time (renewing contract): one year
Third time (renewing contract): one year
Fourth time (renewing contract): one year
Fifth time (renewing contract): one year; after this one-year period, the contract will be terminated.
Project Visitor
First time (initial contract): one year
Second time (renewing contract): one year
Third time (renewing contract): one year
Fourth time (renewing contract): one year
Fifth time (renewing contract): one year; if the appointment is essential, the renewing contract period can last for five years at most.
Distinguished Professor
The contract is based on a one-year period and shall be processed in accordance with the period of a school year or a semester. The period of staying at YZU shall be indicated (2~6 weeks basically).
