YZU Alumni Association & Welfare Committee Co-Host Health Seminar

On January 22, 2025, the Yuan Ze University Alumni Association and the YZU Welfare Committee jointly hosted a health seminar titled "A Heart-Healthy Life: Protecting Your Heart for a Vibrant Future."
The event attracted a large audience from both within and outside the university, bringing people together to focus on health and personal growth.

Expert Insights on Cardiovascular Health

During the first half of the seminar, the Alumni Association invited Dr. Shih-Fen Tseng, Director of the Emergency Medicine Department at the Taoyuan General Hospital, Ministry of Health and Welfare, to provide in-depth knowledge on preventing and managing cardiovascular diseases.

Drawing from her own experiences, Dr. Tseng emphasized that heart health is crucial for everyone, regardless of age or profession. She shared real-life clinical cases and practical strategies to help participants enhance their health awareness and daily practices.

Life Lessons from a Marathon Enthusiast

In the second half of the seminar, Roger Tsai (Guo-Zhen Tsai), a renowned global marathon runner and outstanding YZU EMBA alumnus, took the stage to share his inspiring journey. Under the theme "Life is a Marathon", he recounted how he once disliked running but was later motivated to start due to health concerns.

Since he took up running at the age of 47, Roger has run for over 3,000 consecutive days, completed hundreds of marathons, and conquered some of the world’s toughest races, including the World Marathon Majors and extreme marathons across five continents.
His story showcased the power of perseverance and passion in overcoming life's challenges. He encouraged participants to pursue health while embracing new opportunities and adventures in life.

Looking Ahead

The seminar concluded successfully, and the YZU Alumni Association is committed to continuing to host diverse events, including lectures, corporate visits, charity initiatives, and cultural exchanges. These activities aim to foster growth and connection among YZU alumni worldwide.

We invite all alumni to stay engaged and join us in shaping a brighter and healthier future together!
