YZU students develop facial recognition system for campus security

Prof. Chuan-Jun Su with students, from Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, Yuan Ze University, develop the technology of facial recognition which can be used for access control of classroom and laboratory, as well as, be applied for long-term care services and campus security of children’s sending & picking up. Besides, its surveillance camera is also helpful to suppress criminal activity.

This system of facial recognition can capture sixty-eight characters through one photo or picture to convert into feature vector and make comparisons with images resources by the model of Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The advantages of facial recognition system are its natural and difficult to be observed by objective.
