Given the aging population in Taiwan, more and more patients with chronic wounds such as bedsores or diabetic foot ulcers have difficulty seeking medical treatment due to mobility problems. Professor Chien-Lung Chan’s team from the Department of Information Management at Yuan Ze University and Dr. Dun-Hao Chang from the Plastic & Aesthetic Surgery division of Far Eastern Memorial Hospital (FEMH) have worked jointly on developing an artificial intelligence-assisted remote wound care platform. It is an essential medical innovation designed for home use by patients or their caregivers, allowing remote patient monitoring and improving the challenges in clinical care.
