In order to establish a prominent application-oriented research university, YZU cooperate with many external research units such as government departments, university research centers, research oriented institutions, and industries.
YZU has been integrating its resources, establishing the organizational systems, utilizing its improved software and hardware environment, and forging an application-oriented research atmosphere to attract more external funding. The key components of this project are upgrading research and development quality, construction of a green energy campus, bilingual education, establishment of a world-class research lab environment, and the promotion of industry-academia alliances. YZU will engage in fundamental research with an aim for practical applications in accordance with the development of Taiwan’s industry and economy. Faculty members in YZU are encouraged to form research teams/centers, and the university will facilitate the operation of team research by strengthening the administrative system, including matching fund, performance-based rewarding, independent budget control, and management of intellectual property and technology transfer.
